Prometheus (2012)
Superb fx. Yes, there's some wholes in the plot but I liked the grand scheme. Some horrific scenes that trump Ridley's earlier alien Sci-fi classic. Very entertaining if you like the genre.
The Messenger (2009)
Superb acting all around, emotional storytelling with wonderfully complex characters. Heartbreaking scenes, but great moviemaking.
Passchendaele (2008)
Appropriate viewing for this weekend - well crafted story around the Alberta's "The Fighting Tenth" with good plot doses of the politics of war, love in troubled times, family and fate. A little melodramatic at times, but highly entertaining and emotional.
