Sunday evening in pandemic times

Originally drafted in May, 2020 - who would have thought we’d be getting almost used to these weird times...

Weird feeling late on a Sunday.

Like most people in the world, I am physical distancing from other people.
Over the weekend, my wife and I have kept busy, chatting with friends and family and making our home life comfortable.

I felt I worked hard around the house this weekend. And I legistamately felt I worked hard a my real job this week. But as the weekend draws to a close, my personal life seems very out of sync with what’s happening “out there”. There are so many people suffering in so many ways - but I’m not seeing it in person. 

These are truly vey weird times. A time that is creating new extremes and divides. I’m a lucky man.

Unfortunate pricing coincidence

Coincidence - I've had my eyes on the Nikon 18-200mm lens for some time as a walk-around and travel lens and a replacement to our kit and telephoto lenses.  The current, best price of the older version is $729 at Blacks.

Our front-load washing machine broke over the holidays.  The breakage is severe enough that a repair doesn't make sense so we need to buy a new washer.  The dryer is mounted on top of the washer so choices for a replacement are limited because of the need for the correct attachment with the dryer.  I called The Bay for the latest price for the same model as our old washer - $729.  The sales person who we've bought from in the past will give us a 15% discount.  But still, those prices are unfortunately the same !

I nice balmy day today was perfect for this tricky job. These are heated wires that are supposed to prevent ice build up and the troubles of ice damming which leads to leaking.
