Who said Torontonians can't take a joke

Thanks to my very thoughtful brother-in-law for these funnies. Oh, did I mention he lives in Manitoba, last time I checked, I didn't think they had an NHL team !

Great stuff, laughed my bum off. I Feel bad for leaf Faithfuls though, tough season, and then the firing squad arrives.

Being a huge Wings fan (sorry) living in DC now, becoming a Caps fan has been so difficult. The inevitable comparisons are painful, as I am sure for leaf fans, the memories of those dream teams of the past must be haunting.

There is always next year!

Is this really a joke? I thought it was real!!

Nothing like the beginning of the season when you believe your team can go all the way (now for Toronto, it's the Jays)...that's the great thing about sports. Anything can happen and we like to believe it will happen for the Leafs one year. Ever the optimists!

Will the cousins look at the comments of this? if so, here's the parallel thought - heard the new England World Cup song yesterday (I love it of course, as I love the band).

The first line of the song goes like this... "You're the first in my life
To make me think that we might go all the way" - as the writer wasn't born the last time they won the World Cup but everytime, England fans believe they can win and they will this year, right? As I said above, nothing like the optimism at the beginning of the season or in this case the tournament.

Um. England's chances. I don't think that we are going to get much more of an opportunity than this to go all the way. To stand a chance however, we must have a full and healthy squad throughout the tourny.

More over Beckham, Stevie Gerrard's performances will be the yardstick.

Not long now.
